Pop-Up Postcard: July 5, 2025, Moses Lake Farmers Market -Red, White & Bloom Market
Share
After a late night of fireworks (not mine) and a very vocal Harley (thanks, neighbors), I rolled into McCosh Park a little later than usual for this year’s Red, White & Bloom market. Let’s just say setup took a little longer than I’d like… but I got there, with coffee in hand and pink curtains flying.
It was one of those mornings where everything took an extra step—forgotten table, bundle codes that hadn’t been updated, and that slight market morning fog that takes a bit to shake off. But the sun came out, the booth came together, and I settled in for a breezy summer day at the park.
Traffic felt a little lighter than usual—maybe everyone was still recovering from the Fourth of July festivities—but shoppers were still out and about, and they were buying. I had a steady stream of kind customers, lots of sweet conversations, and more than a few compliments on the new bookmarks (which made my day!).
Customer Favorite Moments
-
The Impending Bloom wristlet keychains were a popular pick this week—floral and moody in all the right ways.
-
The Wild Honeysuckle & Jasmine scent is clearly a summer favorite—it flew off the table in both candles and hand cream.
-
Vinyl Boxy Bags were a huge hit this week. And someone walked away with one of the sparkly ones with a rainbow chenille patch, which always feel like a tiny celebration in pouch form.
One of the more unexpected highlights? A woman stopped to ask about my dog bandanas—turns out she owns a dog grooming business in Yakima and might be interested in placing a bulk order. We swapped contact info, so we’ll see where that leads! Funny enough, this is the second time a business has inquired about my bandanas. A couple of weeks ago, some photographers from the Tri-Cities—who specialize in pet portraits—asked about them, too. Who knew dog bandanas would be the thing to put me on the map? Of course, they were just inquiries, so we’ll see if anything comes of them. But still, it’s such a nice little ego boost to know that something you made is catching the eye of other small businesses.
The live music this week had a fun twist—something percussion-based that gave the park a steady, rhythmic energy all morning long. It wasn’t the usual guitar-and-vocals setup, but it definitely kept things lively.
Making its debut this week was the Farmhouse Picnic Collection, filled with breezy ginghams and sunny picnic-inspired prints. I only brought a couple of the Simple Totes, and while they got plenty of attention, they didn’t find new homes just yet. I’ll have more ready for next week—think boxy bags, cosmetic pouches, and a whole lot of summery charm.
Even with the sleepy start and light crowd, I’m always grateful for these market mornings. The setup, the sunshine, the way people light up when they find something that speaks to them—it never gets old.
Next Saturday, I’ll be back in the park with a refreshed booth, a few more finished pieces, and hopefully a little more sleep.
XO,
Katie
