Pop-Up Postcard: May 17, 2025 — Moses Lake Farmers Market

Saturday morning started off a little drizzle-y—just a few raindrops on the drive in and a light sprinkle while I was setting up my tent. Thankfully, the rain didn’t stick around. The skies stayed mostly overcast through the morning, but the sun made a brief appearance later in the day. I’m so glad the weather held out, especially since it turned into a stormy, windy mess by the time I got home. Market magic, I guess!

This weekend’s market had a wonderful energy. I had more people stopping into my booth than usual, and even better—they were in the mood to shop!

It was also the debut of my Say It With Flowers collection. This one is full of romantic florals, soft pastels, and sweet, giftable accessories. It felt like the perfect transition into late spring.

Best sellers this week included the Wild Honeysuckle & Jasmine hand cream and a few wristlet keychains—Check Please in Cosmic (blue), Baby Buds, and Sweet Cherries were all popular picks. Teacher Survival Kits were also a hot ticket item (it’s that time of year!).

I made a small change to my booth layout this week—moved the checkout area from the side to the back corner—and it made a big difference. The space felt more open, and it gave me a better flow for chatting with customers and wrapping up purchases. I’ll definitely keep it that way for a while.

There were a couple sweet customer moments that stuck with me—like chatting with a woman who’s been sewing bags to raise money for her church. And just as the market was winding down and I was beginning to pack everything up, two women stopped by and grabbed some hand creams. I always appreciate those last-minute visits—it’s such a lovely reminder that even at the very end of the day, there’s still time for connection and kindness.

Looking back, I wish I had brought more of my smaller bags and zipper pouches—those quick grab-and-go items are always in demand this time of year. I had so many people asking if I had more, and I hated having to say I was sold out. Mental note for next weekend: stock up!

Speaking of next weekend, I’ll be popping up downtown for a special market:

Saturday, May 24th – Market on Third in partnership with the Downtown Moses Lake Association. I’m excited to bring something new for this one—it’s a little different from our usual setup, and I can’t wait to see how it goes!

XO,

Katie
